OLYMPIC MANOR MIDCENTURY
Seattle's Olympic Manor neighborhood is known for its stunning views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, as well as its iconic Midcentury homes. When a family approached us to help them remodel their Midcentury house in Olympic Manor, we knew it would be a unique and exciting project. With breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, this house had incredible potential, and we are thrilled to help the family bring their vision to life.
-
The first step in the remodel process was to assess the existing structure and identify areas that needed improvement. The original Midcentury house had good bones, but it was in need of some updates to modernize it and improve functionality. The east bedroom wing floor plan didn’t serve the family well, so we had to reconfigure the layout to optimize square footage and take advantage of the landscape, focusing bedroom views on the significant tree in the front yard.
The bathrooms were also updated to reflect the family's needs and preferences. We selected durable and affordable finishes and fixtures to create understanded contemporary feel. We also added custom built-ins and storage solutions to maximize the available space and keep everything organized.
In the dining room we incorporated large windows and sliding doors that provide unobstructed views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. This creates a sense of connection between the interior of the house and the surrounding landscape, making it feel more spacious and inviting as well as great for entertaining.
One of the key design elements of the remodel was to preserve the Midcentury aesthetic while also introducing modern finishes and materials. We selected a combination of wood, stone, and funky fun tile to create a sleek yet relaxed look that pays homage to the original design.
The kitchen was another important aspect of the remodel, as the family loves to cook and entertain. We updated the layout to create a more functional workspace, incorporating modern appliances and plenty of storage. We also added a large peninsula that doubles as a casual dining area, perfect for hosting guests or enjoying a quick meal.
Overall, were excited about design direction and hope the Midcentury house remodel in Olympic Manor Seattle will be a great success for the family to have a beautiful and functional living space that takes advantage of the stunning views and pays homage to the original Midcentury design. We hope it's a house that they can enjoy for years to come.
